BSNL JTO Recruitment, 2014: Notification and Exam Date
BSNL JTO is
considered as one of the best entry level jobs for engineers. It not only gives
them security of job, but also provides them impeccable working conditions.
They are posted in urban and semi-urban areas which help them to understand
India in a better way. Apart from that, it is also a hunting ground for
engineering students who for various reasons are yet to get a satisfactory job
– in public or private sector. As you might be aware of the fact that during
the first three recruitment drives, it had asked for maximum age of 35 years
for General category aspirants and concession for other categories as per the
Government policies. It has also quite comfortable criteria for minimum
educational qualification. It asked for only 50% marks for General Category
candidates. These were as if not enough, the recruitment process comprised of
only written test. There was no Personal Interview and Group Discussion.
Needless to say, it is a boon for many engineering graduates. And, that is why
they keep on waiting for the notification of BSNL-JTO.
Unfortunately,
the notification has not come since last four years (after 2009). It is nothing
short of surprise that when the Indian telecom industry is experiencing burgeoning
growth, BSNL is not recruiting JTOs. Junior Officers are supposed to handle the
technicalities of the entire operations at the basic level. BSNL being a public
sector company can’t outsource everything. Then, how it is managing the affairs
without recruiting fresh batch? Is it compromising its growth? Is it because of
its effort to cut cost? Is it because it is not able to produce any profit
since last three years? Whatever the reason, BSNL urgently needs JTOs and they
can’t delay the notification for long. There is quite a high probability that
the notification will come in the month of February, 2014. Many coaching
institutes in Delhi have already started preparation for this upcoming
notification. They are aware of the huge number of applicants and just want to
remain prepared.
Scale of Pay:
The post of J.T.O. is in the IDA pay-scale of Rs. 9850-250-14600.

Educational
Qualification:
As mentioned above, the educational qualification for BSNL will remain the same. It will ask for 50 % of marks for General Category students in any engineering branch. There will be relaxation in the minimum degree marks for other categories candidates.

There will be two engineering syllabus and you will be required to select one according to your engineering branch. The syllabus is expected to remain the same, but there is going to be some alterations. Anyway, you can consult the last syllabus to sketch the way your preparation should go.
The General Awareness syllabus will remain the same. Remember, in the last exam there were lots of candidates who could not qualify just because of GS paper. Always try to score good in this paper. Start preparing for General Awareness with a good guide book .
